Summer camp - RAF St Mawgan

Recently four Cadets from 2438 (Bishop Ullathorne) Squadron Air Training Corps (ATC) along with cadets from other ATC squadrons set off on the long journey to experience what life is like on an RAF Station, the cadets were Cornwall bound, with their home for the week being RAF St Mawgan, near Newquay.

On Thursday 12 August, three members of the Air Training Corps took part in a live interview during the Mark Powlett show on BBC Coventry and Warwickshire Radio.
RAF Brize Norton, Work Experience
My name is Grant Robey and I’m a Cadet Sergeant with 121 (Nuneaton) Squadron Air Training Corps. I have just returned from a week long Work Experience placement with the RAF and I had such a good time I thought I would write this article to let you all know how good it was.
A taste of the CaribbeanOn July 31 staff and cadets from 2438 (Bishop Ullathorne) Squadron Air Training Corps joined thousands of people to help celebrate Coventry’s West Indian community and culture at the city’s Caribbean Festival. The event, which has become a major feature of the city’s summer calendar, was celebrating its 20th birthday.

Promoting Success
On Monday 2nd August, Flt Lt Nathan Adams, Commanding Officer of 2438 (Bishop Ullathorne) Squadron ATC had the delight in promoting a hard working cadet to the rank of Corporal. Corporal Andrew Reed was given his stripes at final parade in front of the other cadets on parade that evening.
Cadets in the City
The cadets were promoting the Squadron's upcoming recruitment intake. They were handing out leaflets specially designed to promote the activities of 2438 Squadron. The event was also promoted on the local Mercia FM and Touch FM radio stations. These broadcasts were also backed up by two local press releases in Coventry and Warwickshire, and mentions on Mercia FM and Touch Radio in the week prior to the event and coverage on many local websites.

Cadets and staff from 2438 (Bishop Ullathorne) Squadron have recently manned a recruitment stand in Coventry City Centre's Lower Precinct shopping centre.
