Air Cadet Squadron flies through annual inspection
| News - Members' News |
2438 (Bishop Ullathorne) Squadron Air Training Corps recently came under scrutiny from Warwickshire and Birmingham Wing's Squadron Leader Martin Harrison on their recent annual inspection, to ensure they meet the highest possible standards.
In recent years the Squadron has struggled with cadet numbers and the recent turn around made by the staff did not go unnoticed by Squadron Leader Harrison. Not only was he impressed by the cadet numbers and attendance at squadron level, the cadet’s commitment to citizenship training was not overlooked and he seemed very impressed that the Squadron was very much in demand for attending and helping out at local community events. The new squadron website proved a winner and the determination by the staff to promote the squadron in the local community achieved a great review. The Squadrons Commanding Officer Flight Lieutenant Nathan Adams said “This inspection proves the level of turn around that 2438 Squadron has undergone in the past few years. The Squadron now provides a wide range of activities to both Cadets and the local community, which are very well received at all levels. The overall inspection score makes 2438 Squadron one of the premier Squadron's in Warwickshire and Birmingham Wing. The annual inspection marks the end of a successful year for 2438 (Bishop Ullathorne) Squadron and they have now started to improve their score to achieve a 7 in next years inspection.
The inspection results concluded that this was another good year for 2438 Squadron as the unit continues to move from strength to strength. The inspection score is marked out of a possible 7 and 2438 Squadron achieved their best score to date, a high 6!
